FAQs
Are your herbs organic?
Yes. We offer certified organic herbs, selected with the same care and philosophy that has guided Mediterranean herbal traditions for centuries: respect for the land, purity of the plant, and thoughtful cultivation.
Our tea is still wildcrafted, and it is now also EU Organic Certified, which means the harvesting area and production process meet official European organic certification standards.
Our organic herbs are grown without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers and are cultivated using practices that support soil health, biodiversity, and natural plant development. Healthy soils, rich in minerals and microbial life, play a key role in shaping an herbβs aroma, flavor, and phytochemical compositionβqualities that have long defined Mediterranean botanicals.
In regions like Ikaria, herbs have traditionally been part of daily life, consumed as simple infusions and valued for their closeness to nature. Organic cultivation allows us to honor this heritage while ensuring consistency, traceability, and long-term sustainabilityβbringing traditional wisdom into a modern, responsible framework.
All of our organic herbs are:
- Free from synthetic pesticides and chemical additives
- Sourced from growers committed to ethical and sustainable practices
- Minimally processed to preserve their natural character
By focusing on organic sourcing, we aim to offer herbs that reflect both time-honored Mediterranean principles and modern standards of purity and quality.
What makes Ikaria Blue Zone honey different?
It's raw, unheated, unfiltered, and unprocessed β single-origin from Ikaria, one of the world's five Blue Zones. Our bees forage freely across wild thyme, heather, and mountain herbs rather than monocrop fields, so what you taste is purely the island. USDA Organic certified and packed plastic-free.
Which honey should I choose?
We make three single-origin varieties: Thyme (bold, aromatic, amber), Heather / Anama (rich, earthy, naturally thick), and Pine & Wildflower (deep, woodsy, less sweet). New to Greek honey? Thyme is the most popular place to start. All three come in 250 g and 460 g, and orders over $79 ship free.

What are the health benefits?
Is it safe to use your herbs or/and honey during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Our herbs and honey are natural, USDA Organic foods with nothing added. But pregnancy and breastfeeding are exactly the times to be a little extra careful β some herbs aren't recommended during pregnancy or nursing, and everyone's situation is different. We always recommend checking with your doctor or midwife before adding a new herb, tea, or food to your routine; they know what's right for you and your baby. The same goes if you're taking medication or managing a health condition. And as with all honey, it shouldn't be given to babies under 12 months.
Hi, I'm Eleftheria (means "freedom" in Greek).
I'm the founder and sole employee of Greek Superherbs, from sourcing the herbs in the mountains of Greece to packing the box that lands at your door. Text or email me anytime. I read every message.
It started, like most good things, with missing home.
When I moved from Greece to the US in 2020, I couldn't find the herbs I grew up withβwhole-leaf, wild, earthyβnothing like the chemical-tasting tea bags on American shelves. So I started tucking them into my suitcase on trips back. Friends tried them and couldn't believe the difference. I quickly became the person everyone called when they felt a cold coming on or couldn't sleepβ"Here, drink this."
My husband is a physician at Harvard, and together we turned those instincts into real formulations: clean, potent, medicinal-grade blends from organic wild herbs in the high mountains of Greece. I'm a sociologist, a rescue dog mom, and obsessed with nourishing food. For me, herbal tea isn't just tea. It's a ritual, and it's how I care for the people I love.
